Meet The Team:

Jonny Forsythe (He/Him) - Lead luthier/Electronics

Jonny LOVES fixing broken things, and turning a frustrating instrument into something that inspires creativity. He has been taking apart guitars and repairing them since he was thirteen years old, and has never stopped trying new things to make guitars play better than ever! He’s an expert with pickups and guitar circuits, and has all the information to help find the parts for you guitar. He’s certified for warranty with Taylor, Gibson, and Fender, as well as having more than fifteen years of professional repair experience. You can occasionally see him around town playing in various bands on guitar, bass, or lap steel, and never without a dozen or so pedals at his feet. When he’s not playing music, you can find him trying to find a dog to pet, walking in the snow, or eating some form of fried cheese.

Holly Hansen (She/Her) - Shop Manager/Apprentice

In addition to being a luthier-in-training, and our beloved shop manager (both of which she excels at) Holly is the owner of Salon Sonics, an acclaimed musician, producer and audio engineer as well as the artist behind the band, Zoo Animal. She was named City Pages Artist of the Year (2011) and Best Live Artist (2012), and was the feature of a 30-min PBS documentary “Holly Hansen: My Way Back Home”. She is the recipient of a MN Emerging Composer Award from the American Composers Forum (2017), and was named one of “9 Queer Musicians to Watch in 2020” by Twin Cities Pride Magazine. In addition to her extensive performing and recording career, she has over 20 years experience as a live sound and recording  producer and engineer. She regularly teaches audio workshops for often marginalized artists to share her knowledge and create a safe space for learning in an often intimidating industry dominated by white cis-gender men.

Maddie thies (She/her) - Intake/Public Relations

Maddie is a Twin Cities bassist and songwriter who spent her formative years growing up in Seoul, South Korea. She has played in many local and international orchestras and bands, as both a bassist and vocalist. In 2021-2022, Maddie won The Cedar Commission through The Cedar Cultural Center. She has been included in the Current’s Scouting Report as “Musicians Causing a Stir in December of 2022” and in January 2023’s “Music You Should Know.” She performs in many local groups, such as: Sister Species, Willow Waters & The Earth Tones, anni xo, Kiernan, Joe Bartel, and more. She loves everything related to the music process. Likely playing a show near you!
